Explosions in the port of Tianjin

The media are reporting huge explosions in a warehouse for dangerous goods at the port of Tianjin.

It is reported that many lives were lost in the periphery of the blast. Pictures suggest huge damages to buildings, containers and cars at the port.

It is not yet clear to which extend the port operations are affected.

Tianjin is a major port and industrial area, 70 miles from the capital Beijing and home to around 15.2 million people.
