Sarjak collects service tax on prepaid shipments to India from the freight payer

Sarjak has been guided by the local governing body that service tax on prepaid shipments to India are to be collected from the freight payer. Sarjak hence adjusts to the practice applied by several other shipping lines.

Our principal PIL for now still collects service tax on all India bound shipments from receivers.

Further changes by shipping lines or statutory bodies about the service tax levied on seafreight charges wouldn’t come as a surprise. We will keep you posted about the further developments. Keep checking our news section to stay tuned to the shipping industry.
