How WEC Lines repatriated an “old lady” for a good cause
Support the Uganda Conservation Foundation (UCF) in repatriating a German Lifeboat
In search for a partner for a very special project, Swiss freight forwarder Spedag Interfreight asked for our help. The plan was to support the Uganda Conservation Foundation (UCF) in repatriating a German Lifeboat, currently located in East Africa. A German buyer was prepared to pay UCF USD 5’000.- for the boat, as contribution to UCF’s activities. WEC Lines was enthusiastic about the idea and agreed to arrange the seafreight free of charge.
A few months later, the old lady “Tuennes” arrived back in Germany, where she was built 21 years ago. It’s probably her last and final station after an adventurous journey through four different continents.
$ 5’000 will be added to the invaluable and profoundly important cause of saving the Elephants of Africa. At Ozean we are glad and proud of our contribution to such a noble cause.
